Keeping this short but sweet. Everyone's a little bit Irish on St. Patrick's Day. Or should I say a Wee bit o' Irish on St. Patrick's Day.
The celebration of St. Patrick really has very little to do with drinking, cornbeef and cabbage, or turning rivers green, but that is what it has become for many people.
I'm not complaining.
I am not a wee bit Irish except for on March 17 when I can claim my right place at the bar for three reasons.
1. My better half is 50% Irish and his mother was, bless her soul, sooooo Irish.
2. My cousin was born on St. Patrick's day.
3. I am a citizen of the world.
And those three reasons are reasons enough to properly celebrate on St. Patrick's Day.
Here is a toast to all those kindred spirits out there celebrating this joyous occassion!
In all this world, why I do think
There are five reasons why we drink:
Good friends,
good wine,
lest we be dry
and any other reason why.
Pictured above is what some refer to as an Irish Breakfast.
1 pint of Guinness
1 shot of espresso
As my friends at the Pendleton Roundup would say "You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning!"
Sláinte!
